Student Life
Life in Sixth Form
Our Sixth Form experience goes far beyond academic study. It is designed to develop confidence, independence and the skills students need to succeed in higher education, employment and beyond.
Many of the most memorable and transformative aspects of Sixth Form life take place outside the classroom. Through a rich programme of enrichment, leadership and personal development opportunities, students are encouraged to explore their interests, take on new challenges and grow as individuals.
A different kind of school experience
Life in Sixth Form feels different to lower school, with greater independence, flexibility and responsibility. Students are trusted to take ownership of their learning and to shape their own routines.
Lessons are exploratory and immersive, and are complemented by structured independent study. Students can use dedicated Sixth Form study facilities before and after school, as well as during study periods, which may be spent in school or at home.
A key feature of Sixth Form life is the increased flexibility in the school week, including an earlier finish on Friday afternoons, giving students additional time for independent study, enrichment, part-time work or personal commitments.
Beyond the classroom
Alongside timetabled lessons, we are committed to supporting every student to become a well-rounded, ambitious and resilient young person. Our enrichment programme provides opportunities in leadership, volunteering, academic extension and wider personal development.
Whether through academic enrichment, wider experiences or dedicated pastoral care, our Sixth Form provides an environment in which all students can thrive and achieve their full potential.
Preparing for the future
Our aim is to ensure that every student leaves Sixth Form not only with excellent qualifications, but also with the confidence, skills and experiences needed to shape their future successfully. Independence, self-motivation and curiosity are at the heart of everything we do.
