School Trips & Visits
At Holy Cross, learning goes far beyond the classroom. Our trips and visits give students the chance to explore new places, experience different cultures, and bring their studies to life. From outdoor adventures and cultural experiences to subject-focused excursions and leadership opportunities, these experiences inspire curiosity, build confidence, and create memories that last a lifetime.
Year 7
Students start with a memorable camping trip in big bell tents, enjoying fun activities and bonding with new friends. The English department also takes groups to the Globe Theatre, and visits to Kingston and Richmond Youth Councils and St Pius X Church provide enriching cultural and faith experiences.
Year 8
Opportunities include trips to Paris or Madrid, exploring iconic cities and practising language skills. Students also visit Warner Bros. Studio to discover the wonders of film-making and Harry Potter, and take part in a Year 8 retreat to reflect on their faith.
Year 9
History and RE trips include visits to synagogues, Bletchley Park, and Wintershall, offering immersive learning experiences. Adventure and sport are also featured, with surfing trips to Cornwall that build confidence, teamwork, and resilience.
Years 10–11
Students deepen their subject knowledge through specialised trips: geographers visit Iceland, catering and hospitality students enjoy foodie tours in Italy, historians explore the Old Operating Theatre, computer scientists visit the National Museum of Computing, and drama students see live productions such as Witness for the Prosecution. RE, English, Health & Social Care, and PE students benefit from practical, hands-on experiences. Year 11 students finish with a celebratory trip to Thorpe Park.
Student Ambassadors & Special Opportunities
Holy Cross students also represent the school at a variety of conferences, including Eco, Mental Health, and Digital & AI summits, gaining leadership skills and broadening their horizons.
