Sir Ed Davey visits Holy Cross during UK Parliament Week (UKPW)

During UK Parliament week (UKPW), we received a visit from the Rt Hon Sir Edward Davey.  As the local MP for Kingston and Surbiton and Leader of the Lib Dems, he spoke with students about democracy and how young people can have a voice in politics.
He visited a Year 13 Economics class, a Year 8 Geography class, as well as meeting the Student Council, members of the Head Girls Team and some of our House Captains, student members of the RBK Youth Council and students from other year groups. The students thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to ask questions and have informal discussions with him on an array of topics and current affairs including the energy crisis, climate change, economic affairs and how to pursue a career in politics.
“I really enjoyed talking about climate change, hearing his perspective and finding out what we can do to help.”
Esther Nassolo, Year 10, RBK Youth Council member
