Faith in Action

Charities & Fundraising

Each year, our school supports a number of charities, national, local and international. Every House raises money for their chosen charity, and some other charities are fundraised for at different points in the year as a whole school also.

School Year 2020-2021:

Peace House – Tearfund
Faith House – The Sisters of the Holy Cross
Mercy House – St. Raphael’s Hospice
Charity House – Kingston Churches Action on Homelessness
Hope House – Laughter Africa

We supported CAFOD in our end of year non-uniform days (July 2021), raising £1784.50. The mufti days especially highlighted CAFOD’s work with educating and campaigning for climate change issues. We also have supported our local Kingston foodbank and we collect food and toiletry donations every year in the Autumn Term for our Harvest Assembly.

“Pupils, parents and staff speak positively of their school and of the many opportunities the school provides for its members to grow spiritually, socially and academically which in turn underpins a strong commitment to social justice displayed through significant personal service and fundraising.” Denominational Inspection Report, 2018

Building Community

We have many links with the local community at large, and whether that is carol singing in a care home, collecting and donating supplies to a homeless charity or building links with our local primary schools, it is important to us that community is fostered.

“…so that we may live life to the full and joyfully share this life with others…” – From The Holy Cross School Mission Statement
