Celebrating the legacy of St Oscar Romero: A journey of faith and service

Last week, our students and staff had the honour of attending a special Mass at St George’s Cathedral in Southwark, marking the Feast of St Oscar Romero. Each year, this Mass commemorates the legacy of St Oscar Romero, who passionately preached and explained Catholic Social Teaching with simplicity and eloquence.

St Oscar Romero dedicated his life to making the teachings of compassion, love, reconciliation, and justice a tangible reality for his people. In the midst of El Salvador’s civil conflict, he fearlessly advocated for the rights of the poor and stood against violence.

During the Mass, Archbishop John Wilson shared insights into St Oscar Romero’s remarkable life and mission. It was a profound moment for our community to reflect on how his example continues to inspire us today.
