If you have recently moved and need a secondary school place for your daughter you will need to contact the Local Authority Council within your borough in order to apply for an in-year school place.
If your daughter is already in school and you’re considering transferring her to another school, in the first instance you should:
- discuss it with the Headteacher of your daughter’s current school
- complete the application form through your Local Authority Council
- ask the Headteacher to complete his or her part of the council application form
Your daughter’s education usually benefits most when she has continuity of teaching and learning in the same school.
Girls wishing to apply for a place in Years 7 – 11, can do so by downloading and completing the Supplementary Information Form (SIF) relevant to the application year of entry. If the year group is full, parents/carers may ask for their daughter to be placed on the waiting list.
Please note placing your daughter’s name on the waiting list does not guarantee that a place will become available. Your daughter’s position may move up or down as applicants provide additional information to support their application, or join or leave the waiting list. Please note a new revised waiting list will commence in September at the start of each academic year. If you would like your daughter’s name to remain on the waiting list, please inform the Admissions Manager in writing or by email.
When completing your application form(s), please refer to the Admissions Policy relevant to the school academic year of entry.
Please note that the policy and documents for 2022 are proposed at this stage and subject to final determination.
Supplementary Information Forms
Please select and complete the relevant Supplementary Information Form (and Priest or Faith Leader Reference Form if applicable) for the school academic year you are applying for.
Appeals Information (2021)
You have a legal right to appeal against a decision not to offer your daughter a place at the school that you’ve applied to. You can appeal for a place at your preferred school even though your child may have a place somewhere else. Your appeal will be heard by a panel which is independent of the school. You have the right to attend the hearing to explain your case to the independent appeal panel.
Please use the Appeal Form below when lodging an appeal for entry into other years. You will be notified of date of the appeal hearing once a panel has been arranged.
Please note that due to the current uncertainty in relation to the Covid-19 situation, the date for appeal hearings may be subject to change. Further information will be provided if this is the case.
