Sixth Form Curriculum
Teaching and Learning
All of our courses are delivered by subject specialists and in many departments we have staff who are trained examiners. Students are encouraged to be active learners from the outset and we promote the best habits of independent thought, learning and research. Lessons are delivered in modern classrooms, computer suites and dedicated facilities including a lecture theatre, drama and dance studios and sports halls.
Getting you on the right course
Individual co-construction meetings take place with senior staff in Year 11 and as we enrol students into Year 12. These ensure that all students select the right courses with the right assessment criteria to suit their individual talents and enable them to go on to make sustained and substantial academic progress.
Find out more about the courses we offer by watching the SUBJECT VIDEOS here. You can find written information about courses at both Holy Cross and Richard Challoner in our SUBJECT INFORMATION BOOKLET.
Strive for Academic Success
We encourage students to participate in an aspirational target setting process. We track the progress of students at each ability level throughout the year to ensure no student is left behind and in order to target intervention and support where it is needed.
