Our Aim:

‘Outstanding’ music for all.

Our am is to provide a varied, exciting and inclusive music curriculum where all pupils can learn to be creative, confident and skilful musicians while ensuring that they become a generation of children who are both musically literate and music lovers.

The music department houses 12 computers with well resourced classroom instruments, 1 recording studio, 2 practice rooms and 1 drum room. Pupils are given one hour of music each week and are offered instrumental and voice tuition. Pupils who demonstrate particular talent and commitment to music are encouraged to take part in the clubs and the many performance opportunities throughout the year.

Instrumental Lessons:

We run our own music service for girls, alongside the Kingston Music and Arts Service, who would like instrumental or singing lessons. Currently the cost to have lessons through the school service will be £17 per half hour individual lesson.

​Fees are payable termly in advance. Girls in years 7 to 9 come out of subject lessons on a rotational basis where possible. Girls in year 10 and upwards are given priority to have lessons before school, during breaks or after school.

The Holy Cross Instrumental Tuition Lessons covered include: Voice, Violin, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Guitar and Piano.

Concerts held throughout the year:

Importantly, students perform music for the Assemblies and Mass services throughout the year.
